The Çırağan Palace, which was burnt in 1910, is restorated and a hotel with 310 bedrooms is built on its garden. The heavy external walls of the Palace are shotcreted and connected to two concrete cores built within the building, with steel structures. Luxury suites, ballroom for 1 000 persons and various meeting rooms are designed in the Palace within the original scheme of the building. It is targeted to keep the new hotel building set back from the solid mass of the Palace, not competing with it. Hotel is designed as a contemporary interpretation of traditional Turkish architecture similar to, residences on the Bosphorus, by using roof eaves, double level light window bays, keeping similar proportions of Palace facade. However, with the interference of operator, it is not built as designed. Close collaboration with foreign interior designer team was realized to incorporate local and historical values into design. Unfortunately, this could not been realized, too.

1986-1988 Architectural design, project coordination and construction supervision services were provided.
